Frequently Asked Questions.
1. What is ClubAlert ?
ClubAlert comprises Tee shaped transmitters that are pushed into the end of the clubs, and a monitor that can be clipped to a belt or held in a pocket. When the 2 devices are apart for a pre determined distance and length of time, the monitor vibrates…alerting that you are about to leave a club behind.

2. How does ClubAlert work ?
The device in the club contains a photo cell, and a transmitter. While the club is in the bag, it is dormant, as the photo cell is deactivated. When the club is taken out, the transmitter is activated and it ‘talks’ to the monitor. It keeps talking whilst within a given range, but once outside of that range the monitor recognises that it has gone and sets off the alarm. There is a small delay also built in, just in case you have your hands over the end. Once the club is put back into the bag – it goes dormant again.

3. Why is ClubAlert different to other products ?
It is small and unobtrusive. It does not require special ‘tubes’ to be used and therefore you don’t need to buy a bigger bag. It is completely electronic and therefore won’t break from continuous use. It uses ‘state of the art’ components to ensure that power is only used when out of the bag, thus preserving battery life.

4. How many clubs can be protected ?
ClubAlert will monitor as many clubs as you like, (14 should be the maximum anyway).

5. Are there Batteries – and if so how long will they last ?
Yes, the Monitor and the Transmitters do use small batteries, which are replaceable. Because ClubAlert uses the latest in low power technology, and power is only used when clubs are out of the bag, life expectancy has been tested to over 150 rounds of golf.

6. Won’t the sound of the Alert put other golfers off ?
No, because it is only a vibrator being used, the noise is minimal, but the vibration can be felt to alert you the club has been left behind.

7. What if clubs are changed?
No Problem, the transmitters can be removed and reused in the new clubs.

8. What happens if partners have ClubAlert – won’t the monitors get confused ?
No. Each transmitter has a unique code, and when first used the Monitor ‘learns’ that code. If further transmitters are purchased, the ‘learning’ process is undertaken to make them unique to you. The number of unique codes is over 28 Million, so the chances of 2 near each other are fairly remote.

9. What is the distance before the Alert activates ?
The distance is dependent on a number of conditions, but is averaged between 25 - 40 yards.

10. What if there is no sun, it's raining, and going dark – will it switch on ?
Should you really be playing golf in that weather ! The device is very sensitive and will activate with the slightest glimmer.

11. How is it known that the battery needs changing ?
A light on the Monitor will will stay on when the transmitter is taken from the bag. The tolerance has been set so that when his happens there will still be enough power to finish the round, and replace them later.

12. What if someone picks up my club and puts it in their bag ?
We’ve thought about this. If its one of your partners and they are within 3 or 4 metres from you then it will switch off – but presumably they will still be with you when you realise you’ve lost it. If it is further than this but still within the preset range, as it is put into their bag, then it will alert, due the transmitter ‘knowing’ that it’s too far away to be your bag.

13. How is ClubAlert sold ?
ClubAlert will sell as a Monitor plus 2 Club Transmitters. This is enough to protect those clubs that you usually take to the green with you, maybe a Wedge and 9-iron. If more are required then further transmitters may be purchased.
